PANIC!!!

I can't believe there are only seven weeks left until the final show, how has it come around so quickly?? At the minute I am working on designing garments based on my joints and fastenings. This is the bit that I enjoy the most, seeing my designs come together to make actual garments.

Knitting

The one component that has appeared the most in my visual research is the cog so this seems like a good place to start interpreting my drawings into fabrics. I have started knitting cogs and finding different ways of joining them together. I am really enjoying making these and am pleased with the results so far, even if they do take ages to knit!

Final project

The theme for my final project is going to be Join, Fasten, Attatch. I am going to study all different types of joints and fastenings with a view to creating knitted womenswear garments.

Hello

Hi, my name is Sophie and I am currently in my third year of a Textile design degree at The University of Derby, specialising in knit. I have started this Blog to keep a record of my final project and the work that I do leading up to my degree show. To see work from the rest of my degree click here.
